Deck The Halls
For this project I made my own version of the Christmas carol Deck The Halls. I wanted to have a more dance-ish theme but still have good drums. I started off by just writing in the melody without picking a synth. After I wrote it in i had to choose the synths. For the main melody I used the Poizone channel with the BAS BigUnison TC setting. For the bass I looked in sytrus for something different then expected. I found the echo bottles preset and really liked the sound. For the second part I used the Moogish preset on sytrus. For the part that matched the melody I used the Dreamy preset on sytrus. And for the bridge to the ending I wanted a light happy sound so i wrote in the part and used the Cerbera Saw preset. I then wrote in the drum part.

Good work here Chris. The drums are really the highlight. Ilike your choice of synths, but as much as I like the bottles, still feel it could use more of a bass heavy sound. When you write, start to think about how the final mix will sound and not just about how each individual channel sounds on it's own. All of your sounds are good, but when they come together, there's nothing in the bottom end. Your kick isn't even really low in pitch. Something needs to fill out the bottom.
