Ok Go White Knuckles remix

For this project we had to make a remix of Ok Go's song White Knuckles. To start off I used Edison to put in the vocal tracks and guitar track. I then proceeded to write a drum part throughout the whole song, I wrote it just based on what sounded good to me. I then continued to write a bass part throughout the whole song using Fl Slayer using the BASS Fretless preset, I wanted to make it seem as if the song was slower then it really was when I wrote the part and I made sure it was in key. I then Started to figure out my synth sound. The first one I used was Sytrus with the Acid 7 preset, I used basic whole notes and the synth had a weird sound that sounded as if there was a rhythm which I enjoyed. The second one I used was Wasp with the standard settings, I used it to sound like a piano with a little different sound for the chorus section. I then used CHR_aah_a3 for the chrous sound, I wanted it there because it sounded empty and my first thought of what could go there was a chrous and then I searched through different sounds. After that I just added little effects like the start up sound (I used that because just the drum sounded like it was lacking) and gunshot(which I used just for a short crisp end) and then I just put the applause in for fun.

  3. Great work Chris!
I love your original bass and your synth work.
A fine detail that we can work on together is applying some final remix details such as adding compression.
